Burcu’s approach as a psychotherapist is rooted in depth-oriented work, emphasizing the therapeutic relationship as a key tool for self-discovery and transformation. She believes that therapy is a process where individuals are empowered to develop self-awareness, emotional resilience, and practical coping strategies.

She has experience in working with adults and adolescents; and also has a particular interest in supporting immigrant and expat clients who experience the psychological complexities of migration. As being a therapist living in a foreign country allows her to bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to this work, helping clients navigate the challenges of identity, home, and adaptation.  

With a background in organizational psychology, she also works extensively with individuals facing workplace stress, career transitions, burnout, and leadership challenges.

Burcu initially specialized in Organizational Psychology and began her career in roles aligned with this expertise; including Research Assistant, Career Counselor, HR Business Partner, and HR Manager. 

Her transition from Organizational Psychology to Psychotherapy was motivated by a desire to understand individuals on a deeper psychological level, beyond the workplace context. To pursue this interest, she trained as a CBT therapist focusing on anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and eating disorders and she worked at a private clinic. While having therapeutic experience; she has developed profound interest in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and she had seen her patients under psychodynamic supervision for 3 years. She participated in various professional seminars to broaden her expertise and now; conducts her therapeutic work based on the psychodynamic approach. Burcu also holds Family Counseling certification.

Currently, expanding her knowledge through an ongoing Master's program in Clinical Psychology and Counseling, in a collaboration program with Derby University and Mediterranean College.
